Nsukka Local Government Hosts New Year's Party and Historic Send-Forth Ceremony for Retired Staff

The Government of Enugu State, through the Nsukka Local Government Area, organized a New Year's celebration and a historic send-forth party to honor its retired staff members. The event, held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Nsukka Local Government Secretariat premises, brought together current and retired staff members, as well as well-wishers.

Notably, this was the first time the local government had organized a send-forth party to celebrate its retired staff, marking a significant milestone in recognizing and appreciating their dedication and service.

Chairman Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa KSJI, in his address, commended the staff for their teamwork, dedication, and commitment to serving the people. He acknowledged the retired staff members for their years of service, expressing gratitude for their contributions to the local government.

Engr Jude Chinedu Asogwa outlined his administration's plans to enhance staff attendance, punctuality, and overall employee accountability. To achieve this, he announced the introduction of a time attendance system, featuring clock-in and clock-out machines. This initiative aims to promote punctuality, transparency, and accountability among staff members.

The time attendance system will also facilitate the easy transfer of each staff member's monthly achievements to the payroll system. According to him, this initiative will help manage staff attendance and performance, ultimately benefiting the people of Nsukka by ensuring that council staff attend work regularly.

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of gift packages to the retired staff members, a token of appreciation for their contributions from the Mayor. This gesture demonstrated the local government's chairmans commitment to recognizing and rewarding the dedication and service of its staff.
