Uzo-uwani Local Government Polls:Let's Collectively Stand on this Divine Mandate as We will be Happier as a People.

All the nooks and crannies of Uzo-Uwani were thrown into rapturous ecstasy at the announcement of Barr Chijioke Joseph Ezugwu popularly known as Barr CJ Ezugwu as the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of Local Government elections slated for September 21, 2024.The reasons for the holistic , uncommon excitement by our people at the candidacy of Bar Ezugwu are not far-fetched.

In him , every son and daughter of Uzo-uwani who is desirous of its enduring peace and sustainable development sees Bar Ezugwu as the seasoned , consummate leader who possesses the mental acumen, required experiences and capability to address vexatious problems which have being arresting the development of the council area.

Over the years, incessant , pockets of kidnapping and paying outrageous ransoms to free victims in kidnappers' den; unwarranted killings ;farmers/herders clashes resulting in loss of precious lives and properties of defenceless citizens among others became the ugly narratives associated with the council area.

Previous administrations and relevant stakeholders have expended painstaking efforts with a view to addressing the ugly development that keeps scaring potential investors away from Uzo-uwani and making life look cheap here.But the problem keep staring everyone in the face and yearning for urgent answers stressing the need to restore Uzo-uwani to its original status as that peaceful environment cum food basket of the state that it is known for.

It is an open secret that Uzo-uwani urgently needs the excellent services of a leader who can proffer solutions to this disturbing problem of insecurity. And when we have an incoming mayor in the mould of Barr Ezugwu who has intimidating , impressive track records in community policing , we have good reasons to be happy. As the Liason Officer on Security Affairs in Uzo-uwani, an appointment given to him by our former Governor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi (Gburus),Barr Ezugwu demonstrated uncommon vigour, intelligence and dexterity in performing his duties. Till date, his good records speak volumes and apparently stand unmatched so far when we talk of community policing.

No wonder, the traditional ruler of Nkpologu- Attah community , HRH, Igwe S.J Idu alongside his cabinet members unanimously conferred on Barr Ezugwu the prestigious chieftaincy title of Agunecheibe of Nkpologu- Attah Ancient Kingdom. To be honest, it is a befitting title for a young man who is ever ready to serve his people and protect them from enemies.

Interestingly, Bar Ezugwu exemplifies a true grassroot politician cum community leader who will thrive as our next mayor.Having served as the Supervisory-Coumcillor under former chairmen of Uzo-uwani LGA namely Barr Fide Madukaife Ani and Hon Chukwudi Celestine Nnadozie, he has garnered the leadership training as well as experiences to do well at the helm of affairs in the third tier of government.He has sufficient understanding of what it takes to hit the ground running as a mayor.

Besides, the zoning arrangement which has ensured smooth rotation of chairmanship position among the four zones in Uzo-uwani Local Government Area favours him.Naturally, it is the turn of Adada Zone where he hails from to produce the next mayor .We thank immensely the leader of our great party in the state and incumbent Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter for sticking to the zoning arrangement which has promoted lasting peace in political landscape of this council area.

Significantly,Bar CJ Ezugwu has never failed to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people in all the positions he has held for his community and Uzo-uwani.He commands respect from all and sundry via excellent services he has always rendered to God and humanity at any slightest opportunity given to him.

God willing, he is winning the council poll in Uzo-uwani Local Government Area come 21st September, 2024 with a landslide victory and Barr Ezugwu alongside his deputy, Lady Vera Ezugwu won't disappoint Ndi Uzo-uwani .They will deliver exceptionally as their tracks records attest to this established fact. Let 's give them the needed votes as well supports to emerge triumphantly on Saturday, September 21,2024.
