Tragedy in Enugu: OMMATA Chairman Assassinated in Cold Blood
The Chairman of Ogbete Main Market Traders' Association (OMMATA), Enugu, Mr. Stephen Aniagu, has been brutally murdered by suspected assassins.
Sources revealed that Mr. Aniagu was ambushed and shot at Moses Ogbodo Junction, near Topland Market, in the Amaechi area of Enugu South Local Government. The tragic incident occurred around 7 PM on Saturday, 14th September 2024.
A witness, speaking anonymously, shared that Aniagu was likely heading home after the market closed for the day when the attack happened. “We heard gunshots and ran for safety. After the shooting stopped, we came out and found his lifeless body. His car was gone,” the witness explained.
His body was riddled with multiple bullets, confirming that he was viciously targeted by his attackers.
The tragic loss has left the community in shock as authorities begin investigations into the killing, with many speculating it was an assassination.
