APC Aims to Dominate South-East and End Perceived Igbo Marginalization – Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed the party’s determination to capture a majority of the South-East states, which he believes is crucial to addressing the perceived marginalization of the Igbo people. Speaking on Thursday, Ganduje attributed the issue of marginalization to the political fragmentation within the region, where the five states are governed by different political parties.

Ganduje pointed out that the diversity of party governance within the South-East has weakened the region's political leverage. He questioned, "How can you have five states ruled by four political parties? What will be your political bargain?"

To strengthen the region’s political influence, Ganduje emphasized that the APC is working diligently to extend its control beyond the already-governed Imo and Ebonyi states. The party's immediate focus is on Anambra, a state currently governed by the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

"Next year, there will be Anambra, which has been under APGA for many years, but we have introduced a new strategy. We want to start with Anambra. Already, we have Ebonyi and Imo. Now, we are moving into that zone to ensure that we capture most of the states. And if we get what we want, we will capture all the states," Ganduje declared.

In addition to the South-East strategy, Ganduje expressed confidence in the APC's prospects in the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states, predicting victory for the party in both September 21 and November 16 polls.
