Nasarawa Police Apprehend Woman Smuggling Anti-Aircraft Ammunition Hidden in Palm Oil



The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended Mrs. Hauwa Sani, a resident of Doro village in Katsina State, for allegedly attempting to smuggle 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition. The dangerous cargo was cleverly concealed within a gallon of palm oil.


The arrest occurred on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Rafin Sanyi village, located in the Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Mrs. Sani was traveling with a two-year-old child at the time of her detention.



According to a statement released on Saturday, August 24, by the Command’s spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, preliminary investigations indicate that Mrs. Sani had received the ammunition in Doma LGA and was en route to Katsina when she was intercepted by the police.


In addition to the ammunition, law enforcement officers also recovered a mobile phone and N78,500 in cash from the suspect. The investigation into the matter is ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding the incident.
