Enugu Governor, Peter Mbah, Applauds Mazi Afam Osigwe’s Election as NBA President, Urges Support for His Visionary Leadership





Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN on his recent inauguration as the 32nd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Governor Mbah, himself a seasoned legal professional, lauded Osigwe’s election as a perfect match for the critical role, describing him as a “round peg in a round hole.”


In a statement released on Friday, Mbah highlighted Osigwe’s extensive experience and exemplary service within the legal community, urging him to leverage these strengths in addressing the myriad challenges confronting legal practice and the broader justice sector in Nigeria.


“I join the entire NBA and all well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating the inauguration of Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, as the 32nd President of our esteemed association. His track record as a member of the inner Bar, former Secretary-General of the NBA, and Chairman of the Unity Bar, showcases a consummate legal practitioner whose dedication to the profession is unmatched,” Mbah said.



Governor Mbah expressed confidence in Osigwe’s leadership, pointing out that his campaign platform had resonated with many for its forward-thinking blueprint aimed at advancing the legal profession and strengthening the justice system. “I believe Mazi Osigwe will lead a proactive NBA that provides tangible solutions and benefits to both legal practitioners and the justice sector as a whole,” Mbah added.


Concluding his statement, Governor Mbah, on behalf of the government and people of Enugu State, wished Osigwe success in his new role and called on all members of the Bar and Nigerians to offer their full support and cooperation to ensure his administration’s success.
