Court Orders Yahaya Bello to Present Himself for Arraignment

Breaking News:- Court Orders Yahaya Bello to Present Himself for Arraignment

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has issued a ruling ordering former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to present himself for arraignment in connection with allegations of misappropriating over N80 billion during his eight-year tenure.

The court's verdict, delivered on Tuesday, August 20, also restricts Bello from taking any further action until he is arraigned. Additionally, the court has set aside a previous judgment by the Kogi State High Court.

Bello's whereabouts have been unknown since the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) attempted to arrest him at his Abuja residence a few months ago. The EFCC is currently prosecuting Bello for alleged financial misconduct during his time as governor.

The court's ruling marks a significant development in the case against Bello, who has been evading arrest. The EFCC's efforts to bring him to justice have been hindered by his unknown whereabouts and reported interference by Governor Usman Ododo, who prevented EFCC operatives from arresting Bello at his residence.
